₹7 crore sanctioned for new inpatient block at Alappuzha General Hospital

The Public Works Department has sanctioned ₹ 7 crore for the construction of a new inpatient block at the General Hospital in Alappuzha. The fund was approved following a demand raised in Nava Kerala Sadas.
The proposed block will be a two-storey building and the ground floor and part of the upper floor will be built in the first stage.
The offer was made by the hospital director due to the increasing number of patients and shortage of space, including the emergency room. The design, prepared in accordance with current health infrastructure and security standards, was approved by the architectural wing of the Department of Public Works.
