Her Husband Refuses To Work Despite Being ‘Very Physically Capable.’ He Lives Off A $20K Christmas Gift From His Parents All Year

Her husband is a trained welder in his late 30s and, according to his wife, “quite physically capable.” But he refuses to work a stable job, relying instead on annual gifts of $10,000 to $20,000 from his parents and occasionally doing odd jobs.

His wife, Hannah, recently shared her story in “The Ramsey Show,” reveals the emotional and financial burden his behavior has placed on their families.

“I work in a school district, so I don’t make a lot of money,” Hannah explained. “But I make enough to cover the bills.” She owns the house she bought before marriage and covers the mortgage and all household expenses. They have been married since 2023 and have a toddler together. His teenage daughter from a previous marriage also lives with them.

Hannah says she insisted they break up soon nursery expenses for his children, who had all fallen on him before. Her husband cares for the toddler one day a week, but otherwise spends most of his time “hanging out with friends” an hour away in his hometown. He said he got “strange, vague answers” when he asked what he was doing in those days.

Delony asked Hannah what she would do next, and she emphasized that she couldn’t keep waiting for her husband to change. “You can’t make him do anything,” he said. “This leaves you with a series of really difficult choices.”

He told her he had two options: leave and rebuild or stay and accept the truth.

Hannah said her husband was angry at her for this, but she was still dealing with both physical and emotional trauma after a near-death birth experience. “There have been a number of surgeries and medical events since then,” he explained.
