10 Held in Hyderabad for Possessing Chinese Manja

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police arrested more than a dozen Chinese manja sellers and suppliers. As many as 160 coils worth Rs.1.88 lakh were seized from them.

Those arrested have been identified as Nomula Santosh Kumar and Nomula Pushpa, both residents of Kacheguda, and Lalith Singh, Kashiram Singh and Om Prakash Singh, residents of Mangalhat.

Based on the information received, the police went to Mothi Market and arrested Santosh Kumar and his Pushpa and recovered 51 coils of Chinese manja from their house. On further investigation, Santosh admitted that he had purchased the manja from Lalith Singh. Another police team went to Dhoolpet and recovered 35 coils of Chinese manja from Lalith Singh’s house.

In a separate incident, police arrested four people for possession of Chinese manja. Those arrested include Prashanth and Pavan from Kavadiguda, Akhil from Gandhinagar and Deepak from Dhoolpet. In another case, 50-year-old K. Sunil Kumar of Jummerath Bazaar was also caught on similar charges.

Four persons in the case – Kapil of Dhoolpet, Shiva Raj and Charan and Rajesh of Mangalhat – are absconding.
