19-year-old Newark woman dies from head-on crash on I-95

Delaware State Police are investigating a two-vehicle head-on collision in Holly Oak that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old Newark woman.
At approximately 8:55 p.m. on Feb. 20, a Volvo truck-tractor pulling a trailer loaded with cars was traveling southbound on I-95 south of Harvey Road when a northbound Chrysler 200 crossed the median and collided head-on with the Volvo.
The 19-year-old Chrysler driver was ejected from the vehicle because he was not wearing his seat belt. The woman, who was taken to a local hospital, died from her injuries. the police said. His name will be withheld until the family is notified.
The driver of the Volvo, a 34-year-old from New York, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The interstate was closed for approximately six hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
It is unknown why the Chrysler driver crossed the median and the crash remains under investigation, according to police.
