2.6 lakh devotees likely to attend Sirimanotsavam in Vizianagaram on October 7

2.6 Lakh is expected to participate in the annual Sirimanotsavam, which will be celebrated on Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh on October 7 this year. The festival associated with the Sri Pydimamba Temple is one of the largest celestial events in the state. The Tholellu Festival will take place the day before 6 October.

MSME and NRI Affairs Minister Kondapalli Srinivas, Regional Collector BR Ambedkar and joint collector Sedhu Madhavan held a preparatory meeting on Saturday to review the arrangements. Mr. Srinivas led the authorities to end the Sirimanotsavam to end between 15:00 and 17:00 to avoid any discomfort or confluence-like situations after sunset.

In order to facilitate the smooth movement of Sirimanu, a long tree body carried between the Sri Pydimamba Temple and Vizianagaram Castle, the electrical department will temporarily suspend the power supply on the event day. This precaution aims to prevent past problems due to sunlight and lack of power, which causes difficulties for those who return after the twilight.

Mr. Ambedkar emphasized the successful organization of the festival in 2024 and emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination among the authorities from the municipality, income and donation departments. He also told APSRTC to use additional buses from the towns in North Andhra to facilitate transportation.

In addition, Vizianagaram Police Inspector Vakul Jindal announced that 2,000 police staff will be deployed during the event to provide solid security arrangements.
