Andhra Guv Reviews International City Parade in Vizag

Hosted by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the event witnessed enthusiastic public participation and showcased India’s maritime ethos through operational displays, processions and cultural performances.

“The Governor inspected the ICP, which included marching troops from the Indian Navy, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard, as well as troops from participating foreign navies, Sea Cadet Corps, National Cadet Corps and State Police,” PIB said in a post on X.

Nazeer noted that the parade not only highlights India’s maritime prowess and professionalism but also reflects its growing role in Andhra’s maritime and defense ecosystem.

He emphasized the importance of Visakhapatnam as a major maritime hub and said such events strengthen international goodwill while strengthening India’s maritime outlook in the Indo-Pacific region.

Wearing ceremonial uniforms, the troops displayed common maritime traditions, discipline and professional camaraderie symbolizing global unity and cooperation.

The Naval Air Arm, which showcases the Indian Navy’s integrated sea-air capabilities, was also on display.

Addressing the meeting, Admiral Tripathi described the parade as a unique interface between the Indian Navy, foreign navies and citizens.

“The International City Parade reflects the spirit of international comradeship at sea and underlines the navies’ shared commitment to cooperation, trust and collective maritime security,” a PIB statement said. The statement was included.

He added that such engagements strengthen professional ties and mutual understanding between participating countries.

The parade ended with the illumination of the ships at the anchorage, followed by a laser and drone show and fireworks, and a striking finale took place on the beach.

The International Fleet Review 2026, while highlighting the Indian Navy’s indigenous capability, operational professionalism and enduring partnerships with like-minded navies, reaffirmed India’s commitment to maritime cooperation, interoperability and collective security in line with the theme of ‘Unity Across the Oceans’, the statement said.

According to the Indian Navy, Visakhapatnam will host the International Fleet Review, Exercise MILAN and the Indian Ocean Naval Chiefs’ Meeting from February 15 to 25.

This is the first time India has organized all three major maritime events simultaneously.
