Two Killed In Lorry-Container Collision

Two people from Odisha died on the spot after a container truck rear-ended a truck near Yelamanchili in Anakapalle district on Sunday.

Local people said that the container truck was traveling at high speed when it crashed into the truck and the victims were trapped in the cabin. Police are investigating the accident.

30 kilos of marijuana were seized, 4 were arrested

Anakapalle district police seized around 30 kg of dry marijuana and arrested four persons for allegedly carrying the contraband in a car near Narsipatnam.

Police said the accused, led by R. Rajesh, procured the marijuana from Odisha and when they were caught, they transported it to Hyderabad via Narsipatnam. A case has been registered and investigation is ongoing.

Fisherman lost in the canal

Chendadi Srinivasa Rao, a 45-year-old fisherman from Jonnalanka village, went missing from the main crop canal near Mondepulanka village in P. Gannavaram mandal in Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district on Sunday.

According to P. Gannavaram sub-inspector Siva Krishna, Srinivasa Rao went fishing in the canal and did not return. Following the complaint of his family, the police started an operation to capture the person.
