Angela Rayner declares war – secret plan to bring Britain to its knees | Personal Finance | Finance

Prime Minister Keir Starmer is doing what he always does. He holds meetings and convenes committees where nothing is decided. He then wildly betrays British interests by hiding behind international laws that everyone ignores. He now assumes the role of an international statesman, when in fact he is being ridiculed on a global scale. Britain can barely muster a destroyer to protect its military bases, let alone a huge aircraft carrier. It even bows to the equally weak EU. These days Labor takes only one foreign policy objective seriously. This prevents Muslim voters from shifting to Zack Polanski’s Green Party.

For centuries Britain was an island stronghold. Today he can’t even stop a boat as small boats keep coming. Russian submarines have been threatening our vital undersea pipelines for months. Our answer? Defense Secretary John Healey says: “We see you.” In fact, we will not board sanctioned Russian oil tankers and military cargo ships in the Canal. From where? You guessed it. Because it may violate international law. Even if they are fueling Putin’s slaughter of innocent Ukrainians.

But in one sense this cowardly Labor government is willing to go to war. On our own economy, our businesses and our taxpayers. Chancellor Rachel Reeves has led the charge, confronting the UK with £70 billion in taxes and even more red tape. Growth collapsed even before the Iran crisis, resulting in unemployment reaching a five-year high during his term.

Now Angela Rayner is opening a second front with a brutal union-led attack on British business that risks destroying even more jobs than Reeves. And he’s not even in the cabinet.

Rayner’s disastrous Employment Rights Act means lower wages, fewer jobs, and more strikes. At the same time, there is a risk that youth unemployment will reach terrible levels.

Now his new workers’ agency is being given Stalinist-level powers This goes far beyond anything British firms have encountered before. These include sweeping enforcement measures that allow authorities to enter workplaces, request access to records and take action against employers accused of violating complex rules. Then put the criminals in jail.

Already under pressure, small firms face surprise audits and heavy compliance costs. In a new nightmare for struggling businesses, unions are set to gain new rights to access company information and workplaces with minimal notice.

Hospitality and retail will bear the brunt of the attack, resulting in even more shops, bars, hotels and restaurants being demolished. And Labor will keep turning the screw.

Incredibly, the move comes while Rayner is under investigation over allegations he dodged a £40,000 stamp duty bill on his luxury second home in Hove. His defense is that the tax system is too complex to handle, but he’s still pushing for policies that would further complicate businesses across the country. Essentially, this is a union power grab, and the timing couldn’t be worse.

Briton used to be one of the best places in the world to do business. Global entrepreneurs will make their way to these shores, but not anymore. The prospect of an extension at Wormwood Scrubs certainly won’t hold them back.

Reeves’ attack on business has already increased costs and caused unemployment to rise to a five-year high. Ed Miliband’s mad net-zero charge is destroying firm after firm as energy costs soar. Now Rayner’s joint attack will escalate the situation even further.

Labor will not be able to stand up to Iran, Russia or China. But he is happy to bomb the businesses Britain needs to create desperately needed jobs, investment, tax revenues and growth.

Horrifyingly, Red Ange does this with no power. Imagine the damage he could do if he gets into No 10.
