3 people arrested after 7 Providence College students overdose at party

Three men have been arrested for allegedly supplying drugs to seven Providence College students who overdosed during an off-campus party, according to police.
Providence Police said officers responded to a party on Liege Street in Providence, Rhode Island, last week, where they found four students passed out on the front lawn of the home, according to WBZ-TV. A total of 7 people who overdosed at the party were given Narcan and then transferred to the hospital, where it was stated that they were conscious and alert.
Officers later searched a home on Hawkins Street and seized approximately 20 grams of fentanyl, $1,700 in cash, two rifles and three handguns, including one “ghost gun.”

Angel Williams (33), Patrick Patterson (32) and Kimsheree Simoneau (33) were arrested. Williams and Patterson were facing various drug and weapons charges, while Simoneau was accused of possessing a ghost gun.
Williams and Patterson are being held without bail, and Simoneau was released on $10,000 bail.
None of the three suspects are university students.

“This investigation reflects the department’s commitment to combating the flow of deadly fentanyl and illegal firearms into our community,” Providence Police Capt. Oscar Perez said in a statement.
“The coordinated efforts of our Narcotics and Organized Crime Bureau ensured that dangerous weapons and narcotics were removed from the streets of Providence,” he continued.

The university also said it would conduct an investigation.
“We want to thank the City of Providence, first responders at the scene, and university public safety officials who provided life-saving care to our students,” a university spokesperson told WBZ-TV.
