3 Telugu Men Held in Texas Flesh Trade Case
Hyderabad:Three men from the Telugu community were arrested during a sting operation along with seven other men in a prostitution case in Irving Texas. Irving police conducted an operation to stop human trafficking and related crimes and detained eight people.
Among those arrested were 28-year-old Sasi Kunchea, 30-year-old Sriramula Manoharachary and 30-year-old Sai Hemanth Maremalla.
According to the police, undercover officers visited different places, including places advertised on the Internet and massage parlors, and detained many people throughout the evening. Officers said the operation focused on identifying people allegedly seeking paid sexual services.
Promoting prostitution is considered a serious crime in Texas. Under state law, even a first-time offense is considered a felony, and if convicted, a person can face stiff penalties, including a fine of up to $10,000 and possible prison time.
Police have carried out many operations and arrested hundreds of people in the past to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable people.
Ex-wife kidnaps man for his property
hyderabad:Eastern District police on Tuesday produced a woman named M. Madhavi Latha and nine of her friends before the local court on charges of kidnapping her ex-husband Mantri Shyam (51) from his wife Fatima Begum’s house in DD Colony.
According to the police, on October 29, Shyam’s ex-wife and the mastermind of the conspiracy, Madhavi Latha, hired a gang to kidnap him so that his properties could be transferred to her name. Latha reportedly promised to pay Rs 1 crore to the gang. The plot failed when Shyam escaped from his kidnappers while at a bank in Banjara Hills.
East zone DCP B. Balaswamy said Latha along with her associates abducted Shyam from DD Colony around 8.30 pm on October 29. The gang took him to Vijayawada in multiple vehicles and demanded Rs 10 lakh on October 30. Shyam reportedly arranged the money
On October 31, when the kidnappers entered a bank to collect the ransom, Shyam took the opportunity and escaped. He later approached the police and revealed that his ex-wife Latha had recruited Vundy Durga Vinay and others to spy on him before carrying out the kidnapping. After his statement, the police arrested all the accused, including Latha.
Police said that during interrogation, Latha confessed that she wanted to force Shyam to sign a property transfer deed by keeping him in jail and under threat. To execute his plan, he had instructed the kidnappers to rent a flat opposite Shyam’s house in DD Colony, conduct reconnaissance and monitor his movements before carrying out the kidnapping.
The arrested persons were identified as conspirator M. Madhavi Latha, Vundy Durga Vinay, Katta Durga Prasad, Katamoni Purushotham. Sandolu Naresh Kumar, G. Preethi, L. Saritha, Khoshakolu Pavan Kumar, Narayana Rishikesh Singh and Pilli Vinay.
Police seized three cars, two motorcycles and six mobile phones used in the crime.
127 people arrested for harassment allegations
Hyderabad: Rachakonda police She Teams said they had caught 127 criminals who were harassing women and girls in public spaces, social media and workplaces in two weeks. Rachakonda police commissioner G. Sudheer Babu said that She Teams work in public places in civilian clothes. A counseling session was held at the LB Nagar Camp Office for the criminals, including 47 children. Overall, She Teams received 194 complaints, 40 of which involved harassment via phone calls, 74 of which involved harassment via social media, and 80 of which involved direct physical or verbal abuse.
