30 ZPTCs, 311 MPTCs Stayed in Karimnagar

Karimnagar: The first phase of local body (Parishad) elections in four districts of old Karimnagar – Karimnagar, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla and Peddapalli – has begun with the authorities initiating the nomination process. Election officials confirmed that all preparations have been completed to ensure smooth and fair elections.

This first phase is crucial, covering a total of 30 ZPTC (Zilla Parishad Regional Constituencies) and 311 MPTC (Mandal Parishad Regional Constituencies) seats in four districts. The entire process, from the submission of candidacies to the announcement of the results, was planned by the State Election Commission (DSK).

Candidates can submit their nomination papers at Returning Officer centers between 10.30am and 5pm till October 11. Evaluation of applications will be made on October 12, and the deadline for withdrawal from candidacy is October 15.

The first stage of voting will be held on October 23, while the counting of votes in all stages and the announcement of the results are planned for November 11. The election authorities have completed all necessary arrangements, including the submission of detailed voter lists along with the notification. Special security measures were also implemented at all nomination centers to ensure peace and order.

The authorities are fully prepared to handle the entire administrative process, from resolving objections and finalizing the allocation of electoral symbols to ensuring a fair and transparent electoral contest for all candidates. The beginning of this phase marks the beginning of an important local political season leading up to voting day on 23 October.

Meanwhile, district collector Pamela Satpathy visited the Shankarapatnam Mandal Parishad office to inspect the nomination process, help desks and main centers where returning officers accept nominations. He instructed the officials to strictly adhere to election rules and complete the entire process without any errors.
