4.15 kg Hydroponic Weed Seized At Hyderabad Airport: DRI

Hyderabad: A total of 4.15 kg of hydroponic grass valued at Rs 4.15 crore was seized from a passenger at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, DRI said on Sunday. “Based on specific intelligence, officers of the Revenue Intelligence Directorate’s Hyderabad Regional Unit intercepted an Indian passenger arriving from Bangkok on October 25,” the statement said.

“During a systematic search of his luggage, packages containing a greenish lumpy substance that tested positive for cannabis were seized,” he added.

The statement stated that the hydroponic herb was hidden inside the false bottom of the trunk. The passenger was arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985.

The statement stated that further investigation is ongoing.
