4 Die After Consuming Adulterated Milk in Rajahmundry

Hyderabad: Four people died after allegedly consuming adulterated milk in Swaroopnagar in Rajahmundry.

This was confirmed by East Godavari district Collector Keerthi Chekuri and Superintendent of Police D Narasimha Kishore while speaking at a press conference on Monday.

Officials said that in addition to milk samples from the village, blood samples of those who consumed adulterated milk were also taken. These samples were sent to the laboratory in Visakhapatnam for analysis, they said. Many villagers experienced health problems after drinking adulterated milk. Officials said several senior citizens were suffering from kidney problems.

They said that it can only be understood whether there is adulteration in the milk or not after the sample report is received. The police have given detailed information to the person who sold adulterated milk to the villagers and are interrogating him. Asking the villagers to be careful while buying milk, officials added that a house-to-house survey was conducted in Swaroopnagar to find out the health status.

A health camp was also organized in the affected villages of Rajahmundry. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu took serious notice of the incident and asked the authorities to provide proper treatment to the affected people.
