5 popular iPhone and Mac apps in serious danger of being Sherlocked this fall

If the Apple didn’t steal a little, it wouldn’t be WWDC. In fact, Apple has long been having a long time in offering new software features that overlap third -party Mac applications. Sherlocking comes from Apple’s Sherlock application, which seized a popular third -party alternative called Watson in the 1990s.
This was re -exhibited at WWDC 2025, when Apple introduces a few new features that appear similar to those presented by independent applications and developers in IOS 26 and MacOS Tahoe. Of course, we will not complain about the new talents in MacOS, and Apple is far from the only company that has added features before. However, if you are a fan of one of these applications, they may not be around for longer.
Alfred
Alfred is a popular productivity application that adds a number of controls that straighten your Mac. This includes in -app controls that can be enabled by using text particles for a sliding text input bar and file launcher, keyboard, comprehensive panel history and shortcut particles for various tasks. Are you starting to come familiar?
This is because Apple’s radical revision brought up on the agenda of MacOS Tahoe. Instead of a simple search box, Spotlight is now strengthened with a series of new talent. The menu bar can work in applications to start controls, comes with parameters to fill E -mail and text messages, has deep integration with shortcuts and even uses text particles to start the actions with only a few taps.
Alfred still has several tricks that have not come to the agenda like 1Password integration and visual theme, but the gap between CT and Spotlight has been significantly closed. And Apple is probably just beginning.
Apple prevented the search for a much stronger spotlight in WWDC.

Route
If you often deliver the parcels to your door, you know how important it is to follow everything on the road. Most package addicts are probably using the rich third -party application route to stay above packages, but with iOS 26, this can be done naturally on your iPhone.
It is obtained by using Apple Intelligence to scan your E -Posts and Messages and remove relevant delivery information such as numbers and tracking of carrier companies. This is then blended in the wallet application and gives you a central place to keep an eye on your parcels without having to download another application. Best of all, they’re all done automatically, so all you have to do is buy something.
Volatile
The iOS 26 update helped to find the orientation to your terminal door for virtual boarding transitions stored in the wallet application, and to find lost luggage equipped with an Airtag or other Findmy audience. There is nothing there so far.
However, all changes when you consider the functionality of live activities added to boarding transitions. It will now be a widget that shows the current flight status (how long it will last depending on the land), the arrival terminal of the aircraft and the luggage request table number, airline information and flight number and more. This is closely matched with live events offered by the popular flight monitoring application.
Flighty still has some aspects in some ways, such as fast delay warnings that can reach you before the airline’s own notifications. However, there is no doubt that Apple has entered its own solution, which enters and covers most of the same floor.

The IOS 26, which is located, is extremely similar to the flight.

Bartender
In WWDC, Apple lifted the lid in the liquid glass visual redesign. Inspired by Visionos, this brings transparency and glass -like effects to almost every Apple device and operating system. One aspect of this in MacOS is that the menu bar can now be completely transparent. However, there is another menu bar tweak that may have not satisfied the developers of the popular bartender application.
This is because you can quickly and easily hide third -party symbols from your menu bar in MacOS Tahoe. This is a feature you will find in the bartender and one of the main reasons why people love their benefits for a long time. It does not tell how much time the bartenders have saved users by eliminating the need for a splash between the application settings.
For power users, the bartender is probably not under the existential threat of Apple, because it offers much more functionality that is not located located by MacOS, much more customization options and a handy vehicle palette that emerges below your menu bar. But for ordinary users, Barten Sherlocked.

The bartender still has some tricks, but Apple has made one of the best features irrelevant at MacOS 26.

Truecaler
We all faced unwanted spam calls that cut the day from the slightly annoying to bad intentions. The Truecaller application helped the iPhone users to stay away from scammers and telemarketers by identifying unknown callers, blocking spam senders, rooting fraudulent text messages and asking those who seek to identify themselves before allowing. Apple was even better in iOS 18.2 when it adds a vibrant search API with real -time spam blocking.
Unfortunately, iOS 26 for the Truecals can now make some of them on their own. For example, the call screening feature asks the callers why they want to explain why they communicate with you, then show the results in the text on your screen, allowing you to ignore the search or get ready. For most people, this can be better than defining spam senders.
