Anne-Marie reveals son’s VERY unusual name live on This Morning – and ITV viewers are instantly divided

Pop singer Anne-Marie revealed the unusual name of her second child with husband and fellow musician Slowthai in May.

The chart-topper, known for hits such as Rockabye and Ciao Adios, sat down on This Morning’s couch on Tuesday to talk about her new single DEPRESSED and motherhood.

Ben and Cat then quizzed Anne-Marie, 34, about her baby shower hosted by Capital Radio in April, where she made fun of the baby’s name.

But when she revealed this unique name to those around her, it became blurry, as noted by Cat, who wanted to know what name she had decided on.

‘Do you want to know?’ Anne-Marie asked before revealing that she named her son ‘Sugar Forever’.

The pop sensation revealed that her grandmother ‘always signed cards’ featuring the words ‘forever and always’; it was ‘something his mother and sister continued to do’, which inspired her to name her son Forever.

When Cat, 48, asked if it was a surprise to have two children in such a short time, Anne-Marie admitted her second pregnancy was ‘unplanned’.

Pop singer Anne-Marie announced that she and her husband and musician friend Slowthai gave their second child an unusual name in May.

However, when the baby’s face was revealed to viewers at home, away from the camera, she was filled with admiration for her little boy.

Cat and Ben were enthused about the ‘wonderful’ name choice, but viewers watching at home were split over the choice and the name of her one-year-old daughter, Seven.

Someone who went to X commented: ‘Forever? ‘Poor little boy,’ then a second chimed in: ‘Sugar Forever.’ When he’s old enough, he’ll change his name by deed poll.’

A third agreed: ‘I feel it [for] they are children. Come here Seven, come here forever… just ridiculous’, while a fourth wrote: ‘Calling your child Sugar Forever is sure to throw his head into the swamp at school.’

Anne-Marie, who is no stranger to opening up about her mental health, including her struggles with anxiety and OCD, also shared details of how her new ‘happy’ tune DEPRESSED documents how she deals with dark, personal struggles.

She released the single last month after a long hiatus after giving birth to her daughter, Seven, in February 2024 and welcoming her son just over a year later in May 2025.

She went on to discuss the birth of her second child with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, admitting she was nervous about the song’s reception after taking a step back from the spotlight to focus on motherhood.

Anne-Marie welcomed her second child in May and announced the news with a series of sweet photos of her new child lying on a hospital cot, wrapped in a blanket.

The singer included a photo showing her holding the little boy’s finger, dressing her baby in a bear-patterned baby outfit, and the newborn lying on a hospital cot covered with a bear-patterned blanket.

The star also gave an update on her health, this time admitting that she had been diagnosed with gestational diabetes.

‘But this time I have gestational diabetes. “So yeah, it’s very frustrating because I can’t eat cereal or bread,” he explained.

Gestational diabetes usually occurs in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy and causes high blood sugar, which can cause problems for both mother and baby.

Anne-Marie also confirmed she had felt strange cravings this time, adding: ‘The other day I really wanted to eat steak and I’ve never had steak in my life.’

Anne-Marie, who announced her pregnancy to her 8.8 million followers in February, posted a video of herself lip-syncing to her song Don’t Panic before revealing her growing baby bump as she confirmed the exciting news.

She sang: ‘Baby, please don’t panic. Nothing will happen. Please don’t panic. You’ll just cause more damage. You’re giving yourself a heart attack. Oh, whenever you think like that.’

She then humorously stepped back and rubbed her hands over her belly, showing off her blooming baby bump as she repeated ‘please don’t panic’.

Anne-Marie’s second pregnancy came after a difficult year between her and her husband Slowthai, whose real name is Tyron Kaymone Frampton.

The star announced the happy news shortly after Tyron, 30, was acquitted of raping two women.

He was seen bursting into tears as he and his accomplice Alex Blake-Walker, 27, were cleared of allegations stemming from a concert in Oxford in 2021.

In court, the jury returned verdicts after ten hours of deliberation following a two-week trial in which the two defendants claimed they were assaulted on September 8, 2021.

Slowthai allegedly met two women after performing at The Bullingdon music venue in Oxford on the evening of September 7, 2021, and went to a friend’s house party with Blake-Walker.

Two women claimed they were raped on the roof of the property; only Frampton argued that the allegations were ‘not true’ and that the women were ‘lying’.

Following the news, Anne-Marie opened up about her “toughest year ever” and addressed the allegations in an Instagram post, telling fans, “God was trying to see how strong she was.”

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and is available to watch on ITVX.
