5,000 acres required for Polavaram R&R package in Eluru district

Eluru Regional Collector K. Vetri Selvi directed the authorities to accelerate the land acquisition process for rehabilitation and re -settlement works of the Polavaram project.

At a investigation meeting held here on Tuesday, a land of 5,000 acres of land is necessary for the application of land compensation for land in the Collector Eluru Region, the construction of R & D colonies and the application of the R & D package containing other facilities for projects placed. B Buttayugem and Jeelugumilli have already been identified 800 acres, he said, and the remaining 4,200 acres were purchased at a speed of 500 acres per week and completed until August 15th.

Ms. Vetri Selvi stressed that only non -tribal lands should be defined for purchasing and that there should be no rape by the tribe or others. After the lands are determined, Grama Sabhas (village meetings) should be held in the relevant villages. The collector said that RDOs and DSPs should interact with farmers and provide consultations at the village level in their presence.
