6 dishes culinary star Guy Fieri refuses to eat

Celebrity chef and Food Network star Guy Fieri has built a career on embracing bold flavors from across America, from greasy spoon classics to overlooked regional specialties like “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”
But even the self-proclaimed Mayor of Flavortown has his limits, and some dishes Fieri won’t touch are surprisingly common in everyday diets.
The 58-year-old Emmy-winning chef has made it clear what she’s avoided and struggled with in her stomach over the years. Here are six of the most surprising.

1. Ghost peppers

Fieri is known for loving spicy food, but even he has his ceiling.
Ghost peppers, also known as bhut jolokia, are among the hottest peppers in the world, with nearly 1 million Scoville heat units. According to Chowhound.
On “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” Fieri approached ghost pepper-laden wings and hot sauce with caution, once joking that the peppers would “eat my soul.”

2. Peanut butter burger
A cheeseburger with peanut butter on top may sound like a novelty and perfect for “Diners, Drive-Thrus and Dives,” but for Fieri, it’s a tough sell.

During an episode of the show filmed in Indiana, Fieri lashed out when he tried a burger with peanut butter on top, saying: “I’m definitely not enjoying it at all. … I want to go home.”
He later tried the combination again at a spot in California and admitted that it applied better the second time.

3. Cow brain
Organ meats are a recurring theme on Fieri’s no-fly list.
Fieri sampled fried cow brains at Cattleman’s Steakhouse in Oklahoma during Season 7 of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and visibly struggled with the texture. Brains are sometimes served with eggs, which combine two of Fieri’s least favorite foods in one dish. The Daily Meal reported.

While cow brain is considered a delicious food in some culinary traditions, its texture has proven to be a deal breaker for the TV presenter. According to Mental Floss.

4. Haggis
There is no free entry to Scotland’s national dish either. Haggis, traditionally consisting of sheep’s heart, liver and lungs mixed with oats and spices, falls into the offal category. Traditional version containing sheep’s liver is banned in the US

Fieri reportedly tasted beer-battered haggis balls at Mac’s Fish ‘N Chips in Santa Barbara during Season 13 of his show, and although he admitted it was well-seasoned, his general dislike of organ meats remains.

5. Liver and onion
Fieri didn’t mince words about the liver, reportedly saying he “couldn’t even be in the same room” as the dish.
Liver and onions were previously named America’s “most hated food” by Forbes, which shows Fieri isn’t alone on this one. According to Britannica, this nutrient-dense dish dates back to ancient Rome, where it was considered a valuable food.

6. Eggs
Perhaps the most surprising item on Fieri’s list are simple egg dishes. Fieri said he will use eggs as an ingredient in sauces and baked goods, but avoids them when they are the star of the plate.

Fieri compared scrambled eggs to “liquid chicken” in a 2024 Food Network clip. His hatred reportedly stems from childhood memories of struggling with the chalky yolks of boiled eggs.
