7,000 Returnable Plots in Amaravati Yet to be Registered: Narayana

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Municipal Minister P Narayana on Tuesday said that 7,000 of the total 66,000 refundable plots allotted to farmers pooling their land for greenfield capital Amaravati are yet to be registered.
The minister noted that farmers register 30 to 60 plots per day. “Out of 66,000 lands, only 7,000 are yet to be registered. Farmers are registering 30 to 60 returnable lands daily,” Narayana said in a press release. he said.
It also observed that 1,891 parcels belonging to 450 farmers were mixed up due to family disputes. The official added that the government has made arrangements to facilitate the registration of 1,000 plots per day.
Narayana, who visited Amaravati during the day, appealed to farmers to come forward and register their lands and assured that infrastructure such as drainage, roads and other facilities on the lands will be completed within a few years.
Promising to connect the seed access road with Mangalagiri Road soon, the minister said the government will pool additional land if necessary in line with future projects.
He said capital construction work was progressing steadily in all 29 villages of Amaravati, except Zones 8 and 11, where returnable lands have been allotted to farmers.
On November 28, the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, approved the second phase of the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) of 16,666 acres.
The second phase is expected to complement the existing 54,000-acre Amaravati land bank, of which 34,281 acres have been acquired from 29,881 farmers in 29 villages.
