89 out of 119 Jal Jeevan Mission survey reports submitted: Minister C R Patil

Jal Shakti Minister Cr Patil said on Wednesday that approximately 89 of the 119 central teams were assigned to evaluate the application of the Jal Jeevan mission (JJM) among the states, and the rest would be until the end of the month.

“119 teams were established in coordination with DRDO and our Ministry officials to fulfill the ground inspections of Jal Jeevan mission plans.

Patil, “111 teams completed the survey and about 89 of them have already presented their reports. We expect the rest until June 30.” He said.
The Jal Jeevan mission, which is the flagship scheme of the center, aims to provide safe and adequate drinking water to every rural household people in India through individual household tap connections.

Large -scale audit was launched after the May 8 review meeting under the chairmanship of the cabinet secretary TV Somanathan.


Later, the Ministry of Personnel and the Ministry of Education issued orders that assigned 100 teams, including central government secretaries, joint secretaries and managers to make evaluations. “If a contractor or another makes a mistake, we have announced that these teams will encounter a definite action.” He said. The state governments were also instructed to make the necessary recruitment. ”

Patil also said that no households should not encounter a tap connection, but there was no water.

“We told the states that they should create new ones by using their own funds to provide uninterrupted supply,” the Minister said to the states. He said.

Inspections include various key status, including Madhya Pradesh, which has the highest scheme (27), then Rajasthan (21), Uttar Pradesh (18) and Karnataka (16).

Other states include Odisha, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand.
