Father admits gunning down man but says it’s not murder

One father admitted that he had shot another man on a suburban street, but he said it was an incompetent accident.
For Luke James Picking, lawyers told the 42 -year -old Victoria Supreme Court jury that he killed 33 -year -old Abdurhman Jemal in March 2024.
However, they rejected that the murder committed, argued that the voter did not mean that he did not mean the trigger and that he should be found guilty of killing instead.
“What happened here was a wrong warning.”
Prosecutors claim Picking, and 19 -year -old son Brodi ambushed Mr. Jemal outside a Glenroy shopping lane in the north of Melbourne at 4.30 on March 29th.
Brodi, who was tried for the murder, knew Mr. Jemal, but a couple fell at the beginning of March after Brodi’s accusation of stealing his 33 -year -old wallet.
The two men had a discussion in a Bunnings parking lot on March 28, and it was claimed that Brodi said to a friend “C *** would kill”.
The prosecutors claimed an hour before the shooting, Bodi and Luke Picking, including past places, including Mr Jemal, including his mother’s house.
It is claimed that Mr. Jemal continued a red Hyundai in Glenroy and followed him until he pulled the 33 -year -old child and faced them.
CCTV images played to the jury showed shouting between the two groups before the Mr. Jemal was shot in his face.
Prosecutors claim that Luke Picking said to Mr. Jemal, “You want an air strike,” before igniting and accelerating the bullet.
Mr. Jemal returned to his car and managed to press the horn before he collapsed.
He died after having more than one hunting rifle pellet around his face and neck.
Mr. Morrissey said that the jury Luke Picking was responsible for the death of Mr. Jemal and that he had already offered an objection to kill the prosecutors.
The lawyer argued that the voter only aims to threaten Mr. Jemal and went wrong.
Işt He wanted to present the gun … But he didn’t want to pull the trigger, Mor Morrissey said to the jury.
Mr. Morrissey said there would be evidence from a neurologist who determines the problems that caused Picking to be incompetent with his hands.
Brodi Picking’s lawyer Rishi Nathwani Kc admitted that his client was in the car when Luke fired his deadly shot.
However, the jury said that Brodi did not know that it was a loaded weapon in the vehicle and that he never made a deal with his father to kill Mr. Jemal.
“He did not help or encourage his father positively to do this.” He said.
Barister was also discussed that Brodi was still upset about the wallet stolen during the shooting.
The prosecutors claim that Luke Picking was in contact with his 49 -year -old friend Ian Harris to throw the gun after Luke Picking.
Harris’s lawyer Rahmin De Krets acknowledged that his client had a firearm, but argued that Harris was used to kill someone.
Mr. De Kretser said that his client should have great doubts that his client was guilty of helping a alleged killer.
The hearing before Justice Jane Dixon continues.
