Safety mechanism caused Trump escalator malfunction, UN says

The United Nations, a escalator used by Donald Trump, said that he suddenly stopped because of a security mechanism that could be triggered by his video.

A UN spokesman traveled backwards to capture the arrival of the US President with the first Lady Melania Trump, and a UN spokesman accidentally triggered the security function after reaching the summit.

Trump, during his Tuesday conversation at the UN Building, referred to a joke: “The first lady would have fallen if it wasn’t in a very good condition.”

The White House expressed his concerns that someone stopped the walking ladder while taking steps.

The White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was sent to X after the incident “If someone in the UN deliberately stops the walking ladder, the president and the first Lady should be fired and investigated.”

UN Secretary General António Guterres spokesman Stephane Dujarric said that the cameraman reached the top of the escalators as president and assembles the steps below First Lady.

Dujarric, “At that moment (09:50), the escalator stopped.” He said.

Reading the central processing unit of the machine, “a safety mechanism in the walking step, the escalator after triggering the escalator showed that the escalator stopped,” he added.

The White House has not yet commented on the findings of the UN.

After the Walking Snafu, Trump faced more technical difficulties when he started his speech to the UN General Assembly.

Opened by saying that teprompter did not work – although it was restored towards the end of his address.

“I can only say that those who use this Teleprompter are a big problem.” He said.

The UN official said that the White House then operated Teleprompter at that time, brought his own laptops and put on the UN system.

The authority said it was because they will know the speed of running the President’s text.
