Syrian president extends peace offer to Israel during first UNGA speech in six decades

Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa wrote history at the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday and addressed a Syrian leader for the first time in about twenty years. The appearance in New York attracted thousands of Syrian supporters, which gathered outside the UN headquarters, celebrated that they described as a new department for the countries where the war fell apart, and called for US President Donald Trump to support the re -integration of Syria into the international community.
The memory carried special weights for the Syrians who escaped during the 14 -year civil war of the country. They shook the flags, carried posters, and said their calls for peace and restructuring. For them, the opinion of a Syrian President, which he met in the UN, was both symbolic and deep personal.

Mustafa also thanked the Trump administration for the steps of alleviating the sanctions and said, “As a government, we would like to thank Mr. Trump for the courage to remove sanctions on Syria.”
At the UN address, President Al-Sharaa asked to remove sanctions and promised to watch a new Syria built on unity, sovereignty and peace with its neighbors. He emphasized that the conflict brings “unexplained pain” and “deserves the right to rebuild their lives, homes and countries”.
Syria’s Emergency and Disaster Management Minister Raad Saleh discussed the reports of a US security agreement with Israel and said to Fox News Digital: “This is a political decision and we make this decision. However, the walls are no longer looking for any conflict.
