Kannada writer S.L. Bhyrappa cremated with State honours in Mysuru

Saraswathi Samman Awardee, who died in Bengaluru on September 24, and the famous Kannada writer SL Bhyrappa were burned with full state dignity in Mysuru on September 26th.

Bhyrappa’s body was shifted from Bengaluru to Mysuru on September 25, and a few hours in Kalandira, where many fans and other people pay their last respect.

These include former Prime Minister Basavaraj Bomnai, Mysuru Regional Minister HC Mahadevappa, Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, Mla TS Srivatsa, former Deputy Pratap Simha and Mysuru Regional Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy ..

On September 26, the corpse was taken to his home in Kuvempunungar, where he lived for decades to enable the local people to take a last look. After some rituals, the fatal residues were shifted to the crematorium on the skirts of Chamundi hills.

As part of the state protocols, the police took three rounds as a respect for the deceased. The national flag poured on the body was removed and delivered to the family.

The state protocol was followed by traditional rituals, which were illuminated by Pyre’s sons Ravi Shankar and Uday Shankar and others.

Approximately 150 people from the native village of Santeshivara in Hassan region came to Mysuru to attend the funeral of Bhyrappa.
