Man arrested after fire at London asylum seekers’ hotel

BBCA 64 -year -old man was arrested on suspicion of arson to endanger life after a fire in London hotel housing asylum seekers.
The fire in Thistle City Barbican on the Dingley Road, Islington was treated as a hate crime by investigating the officers and condemned as a “inferiority and cowardly attack”.
According to the metropolitan police, it was around 22:50 on Wednesday.
Nobody was hurt and the staff gave flames before the officers arrived.
Met said that the man was arrested on suspicion that he had a winged article and was in custody.
The force added that this was an isolated event and that the police were open -minded about the motive.
Islington Council leader, Una O’HALLORAN and Local Labor Party Deputy Dame Emily Thornberry said: “We completely condemn this inferior and coward attack that has no place in our community or society.”

“Islington is a proud tolerance and diversity light that meets people from all over the world.”
He added that the attempts to divide will fail, and that “such violence will never be answered”.
They said, “Everyone who tries to provoke hatred or violence has no place in Islington.”
