Populist threat to rule of law a danger to UK working class, says attorney general | Richard Hermer

The right -wing populists threaten the protection of working class people under the rule of law, and the Chief Public Prosecutor will still say in his most political intervention.

In a criticism of Nigel Farage and Robert Jenrick, Richard Hermer will say that populist politicians pose a threat to “people who use the legal system and courts to“ verify important mistakes ..

Speaking on the first day of the Labor Party’s conference in Liverpool, Hermer said, “If you cannot trust your case or if your fundamental rights are taken in a fair way or your fundamental rights are taken, they are working class people who will pay the price.”

His words aimed at the right -wing politicians who have increasingly attacking the legal system, and in some cases, he faces the risk of falling into hearings by making explanations that may be prejudiced in active court procedures.

This month, a judge criticized the Toray Shadow Justice Secretary Jenrick.

Jenrick, who wrote about the trial of Elias Morgan’s former prison officer Lenny Scott for the murder of Lenny Scott, said in a deleted mission on X on 1 July: “Lenny revealed corruption and took Gangster to control a prison wing. He took threats to his life, but he died four years later.

The tweet gathered in court by the prosecutor Alex Leach KC in court without a jury, and Mr. Justice Goose was “the task is problematic because it was presented as a clear fact on what the prosecution is based”. The prosecution took steps to transfer and is no longer online. Morgan was found guilty on August 29th.

Separately, reform British deputy Richard Tice, critics, said in a statement that the police and law weakened the superiority of the state -patrolling awake -style gangs patrolling on the streets.

And at a press conference last month, a reform of a reform council, although he has not yet been convicted of any crime, was referred to a man called “guilty .. Farage, questioned as to whether the laws of vaccination were broken, said that the Council leader was “good” to be “a little emotional”.

Hermer will say: “The superiority of law is under the threat of populists who will harm the working class. They are trying to kick the support network for ordinary people who use our legal and judicial system to verify important mistakes.”

A conference hosted by the UCL Policy Institute will make its statements at the Fringe event and more common points.

A source close to the Chief Public Prosecutor said that he wanted to make a more proactive situation for working people, such as the Human Rights Law, which provides the security of justice as the Economic Growth Platform of those killed in the Hillsborough disaster and the economic growth platform ”.

Hermer will argue that the inflammatory rhetoric increase against lawyers has real world consequences, including the increase in personal attacks on judges and lawyers.

The comments are based on a conversation he made in Old Bailey during the summer, and said, “A worrying tendency to attack the judiciary in this country recently – he tried to weaken them by depicting them as a partisan”.

Hermer said, “We have seen an increase in the personal attack against individual judges, not only by newspapers, but also by British politicians, including pre -banks in parliament, almost just a few years ago,” he said.

“This was accompanied by an increase in physical and online threats against judges reflected in some terrible threats against lawyers. These attacks are as wrong as they were dangerous.”
