Three dead and several injured after shooting at US waterfront bar

Authorities, a shooter, North Carolina, Southport, a crowded coastal bar opened a fire after opening a boat three people were killed and several people were injured.
The attack took place on Saturday evening outside the American Fish company in the Southport Yacht Basin.
City spokesman Chyann Ketchum said that a boat was pulled to the dock around 21:30 (01:30 GMT) before the attacker opened fire. The attacker then fled to intracoastal water road with the boat.
Authorities, a suspect matched the definition, about 12 miles (19km) of the scene near the nearby Oak Island by the US Coast Guard was arrested half an hour later, he said.
The suspect’s identity was not released by the police.
The Southport Police Chief Todd Ciging described the event as a “very tragic night” for the community.
The town is home to people a little below 4,000. “We are a small community, one of the communities that everyone knows everyone.” He said.
He said six people who are currently treated in the hospital have been injured. The deceased person was not defined by the police.
The incident made a statement calling people to stay in their homes as an active shooter investigation continued.
“I’m comfortable to say that we don’t feel that there are additional threats to the community.” He said.
