Submarine deal tipped to survive Pentagon scrutiny

While Australia concluded the study of the Pentagon Aukus Military Pact, it is sure to continue its plans to purchase nuclear energy submarines from the USA.
According to a report of Nikkei Asia, the United States says it cannot make any changes in the tripartite military agreement with Australia and the UK.
A senior US defense official is investigating the agreement of selling nuclear submarines to Australia to ensure that President Donald Trump is compatible with the “American first” agenda.
Elbridge Colby under the war secretary for the policy led to speculation that Mr. Trump could prepare to move away from the agreement.
Nikkei Asia said that the investigation will end before the Prime Minister Anthony Albania will end before the White House on 20 October and that it was not decided to change the submarine agreement.
An official from a member country said to Outlet “Aukus is safe.”
Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles will not be withdrawn to the report, but the military agreement will continue, he said.
“Aukus is happening, this is not the case,” ABC Radio Melbourne said to Tuesday.
Mr. Marles said he would not pass in front of himself because the review is still continuing, but he was “very confident” about the agreement.
Prime Minister Anthony Albania, in October to travel to Washington DC Mr. Trump to guarantee the loyalty of AUKUS to confront the oppression and the leaders sit for talks, the agreement is likely to be high on the agenda.
Under the “column” of the AUKUS Pact, the US promised to sell Australia at least three virginia -class nuclear -energy submarines from the beginning of the 2030s.
Australia plans to start the construction of its own nuclear submarines in Adelaide in the late 2020s.
Given that both countries are struggling to achieve their own goals for submarine production, the US and Britain’s capacity to contribute to the plan continues.
Jennifer Parker, Maritime Safety Specialist, Australian University of Australia, said that the concerns about production capacity are exaggerated.
“Numbers on paper do not create an operational ability, Aap said AAP.
Mrs Parker also said he was not surprised by the White House’s reports with AUKUS.
“I don’t believe that countries have done something for altruistic reasons … Each of the three partners agreed to Aukus because he’s in his strategic interests.” He said.
