Navratri Ashtami, also known as Durga Ashtami or Maha Ashtami, is one of the most important days of the Nine -Day Navratri Festival. On the eighth day, the goddess is dedicated to worshiping Mahagauuri and to realize the Holy Canya Puja (Kanjak Puja). They seek blessings for prosperity, protection and spiritual growth by observing fasting, performing rituals and presenting prayers during auspicious muhurats.

History and Importance of Ashtami

Durga Ashtami will be celebrated on Tuesday (September 30th) in 2025. Today, they call Maa Durga in a hard but compassionate form, symbolizing purity, peace and the removal of all obstacles. KANYA PUJA VİDHİ (Method)

Kanya Puja or Kanjak Puja is one of the most important rituals of Durga Ashtami. Here is step by step method:

• Invite nine young girls (Kanyas) representing the nine forms of the goddess Durga.
• Symbolizes respect and purification and wash your feet with water.
• Apply a recitation and connect the sacred yarn (kalawa) to your hands.
• Offer Prasad – Traditionally Puri, Chana, Halwa, Fruits and Sweets.
• Durga mantras and Bhajans chanting Aarti.
• Touch your feet and look for blessings from Kanyas.
• Gifts or Dakshina (clothes, bracelets, stationery, etc.) before sending.
