India initiates anti-dumping probe into imports of three Chinese goods

New Delhi, September 30 (PTI) ARM DGTR of the Ministry of Commerce, launched anti -dumping probes against the imports of three Chinese property following the complaints of domestic producers – domestic animal films, kitchen glassware and nylon.
Applicants claimed that the evacuation of these goods affects the local industry.
General Directorate of Trade General Solutions (DGTR), Bangladesh, China, Thailand and the United States originated or exported polyethylene tereftalat film (PET Films) imports on the importation of an anti-dumping investigation began according to separate notifications.
Chiripal Poly Films, Ester Industries and Vacmet India applied before the director to launch an anti-dumping investigation into domestic animal film imports.
Borosil LTD was an application for the initiation of a similar probe in the import of Borosilicate table and kitchen glassware from China.
Similarly, Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals have applied for an investigation from China, Russia, Taiwan and Thailand to the allegation of the evacuation of “Nylon 6”.
DGTR said in a notification on Tuesday that DGTR has launched investigations about the import of all these goods to determine the existence, degree and effect of the damage.
If it is found that casting causes material injury in domestic players, DGTR will recommend that the tax be applied to the import of all these goods.
The Ministry of Finance makes a final decision to impose the task.
Anti-dumping probes are carried out by countries to determine whether domestic industries have been injured due to the increase in cheap imports.
As a counter precaution, they impose these tasks under the multilateral regime of the Geneva -based World Trade Organization (WTO). The task aims to provide fair trade practices for domestic producers against foreign producers and exporters and to create a flat playground.
India and these countries are members of the WTO.
India has applied anti-dumping tasks to various products to deal with cheap imports from various countries, including China.
