Hike in service charges at Beypore port may trigger crisis, says MP

Mohammed Hamdullah Sayeed, Deputy of Lakshadweep, asked Lakshadweep to review the march in the service fees in Bebore Port, which was largely trusted.
In a letter to the Minister, Mr. Sayeed said the hike will negatively affect the cancellation of passenger services from the Bebey, especially the Baby. Service fees for cranes that lift the cargoes to ships were increased three times, while the entrance fee to the ships doubled. Tugboat services, which attracting ships to the harbor, were charged for warehouses and drinking water.
Mr. Sayeed expressed his concern that the hike will affect the efforts to restore passenger services between the baby and Lakshadweep.
