‘I wish I had died’: schoolgirl’s suffering after crash

A young girl announced that she wished that she had died instead of a disabled foot injury because a truck driver was deported to the school bus.

“I am very happy to be alive, but then none of my pain or pity wouldn’t be here,” the girl, who could not be defined, told a Melbourne Court among tears.

“I was very tired of this, and I wish I was dead.”

The truck driver, who caused the looter injuries, did not encounter any of his 35 victims in court on Wednesday.

63 -year -old Brett Michael Russell, the prison appeared by a video connection, crossed his arms, and claimed that he was guilty of 12 accusations, including serious injuries.

In 2022, when Loreto College collided with the Ballarat bus, he used a main carrier truck from the northwest Victoria to Melbourne.

Prosecutors knew that all brakes were wrong, but the truck still lasted.

On September 21, around 3.16, the truck jumped to the upcoming traffic and collided with 32 passengers, including 27 school students, on the Western highway.

The group was going to Melbourne Airport for a lifetime journey to the NASA camp in the USA.

Russell’s truck hit the back of the bus that slowed down for traffic management and pushed down a steep set from a barrier and rolled several times.

Three passengers were removed from the bus and the rest was stuck inside, traffic management employees ran to recover before emergency services arrived.

Russell was found guilty of 10 census for three personnel, including seven students aged 14 to 18, and three personnel, including Suzanne Fraser, 52 and Narelle Mulrooney.

In addition, while the brakes of the truck and trailers were defective, B-Cifte was found guilty of reckless behaviors about riding the truck, and the bus driver Wayne Orr, who has not yet returned to full-time work, placed 21 passengers in danger of serious injuries.

Russell also accepted the 12th reckless charges of behavior that endangered serious injuries of three roadside workers – Liam Ryan, Brendan Morris and Rodothea Kalisperis.

Because of reading the explanations about how the accident affects them, many of them are attending the hearing of Wednesday, including victims and love.

A 15 -year -old girl described it in the darkest moments who wanted her to die in an accident, so that she had no need to suffer in her leg and feet after she had a few operations.

Orum I don’t want a coward -looking leg, I want a normal leg, dedi he said to the court.

“I just want to be like everyone else.”

Russell confessed to the police while interviewing about the accident, which he knew there was a risk of driving a truck with two trailers and flawed brakes.

Prosecutor Jim Shaw said to the court, “Yes. And I still took risks,” he said.

Mr. Shaw said that Russell has violated the task of care by neglecting the penalty and was largely inadequate than the maintenance standard to be used to use a reasonable person to continue to drive the truck.

“The road knew that the road would continue in some parts of the road with steep descents, which would be difficult to navigate with non -use brakes.” He said.

“If he could not stop the truck, he knew the risks for other road users.”

The hearing before the exam continues on Wednesday afternoon.
