92-year-old Idaho man allegedly traveled to Utah to kill family members over inheritance dispute

Layton, Utah (ABC4) -92-year-old Idaho man was arrested in Utah after traveling on the state lines with the plan to kill his nephew and his nephew’s wife.
92 -year -old Billy J Nevills was arrested for two murder attempts. It has not yet been officially accused.
According to the arrest statement, on September 28, 2025, Nevills went to Utah from his residence in ID, Twin Falls. Allegedly, he would later tell the researchers that he was looking for his nephew’s house to kill him and he was looking for his nephew’s house.
Layton City Police Department found Nevills in Layton on the morning of September 29th and was detained. It is unclear how it is currently. ABC4.com reached the police for more information about the arrest, but has not yet heard.
During an interview with the police, the 92 -year -old child announced that he wanted to kill and publish two of them on a family confidence. Nevills, when his wife passed away, his wife’s sister should inherit the property of his sister, he said. However, Nevills’ nephew was able to change the will and ultima ultimately placed the entire sister’s legacy ”.
Due to this change, Nevills said that he and his wife lost all their claims for inheritance.

It was claimed that Nevills was angry and decided to kill his nephew because of his belief that his nephew’s wife was “stealing the money that was rightly designed”. Layton City police officers found a sticky note in the address of his nephew’s address, and Nevills announced that he had bought a Glock gun a few weeks ago to commit the crime.
During the interview with Nevills, he said that his nephew was walking around to call his house and he would “kill him already” if he had access to the GPS on his phone. Twin Falls is about 200 miles from where Nevills is located in ID, Utah.
Nevills also told the researchers to go to his nephew’s residence, to kill him and his wife when they opened the door, to place the gun on the ground, to call 911 and wait for the police to come.
According to the court documents, Nevills, after being detained, said that he would kill his nephew and his nephew’s wife in front of the officers if he can do this ”. He said to kill his nephew, “he’s willing to do anything else and he’s willing to do whatever it takes”.
Nevills was arrested and reserved for Davis District Prison, where he was currently held without bail.
