Landowners accuse Allan government of overvaluing properties and inflating bills

Opposition finance spokesman Bridget Vallence said that the government has serious questions to answer the hikes in land values that increase land tax invoices for families and businesses.
Shadow Treasurer James Newbury, the state’s land tax system is deeply unfair and the Labor Party’s giant budget debt designed to support a real estate tax regime, he said.
A state government spokesman, Value-General is an independent legal organ, he said.
“All values are made at the length of weapons of the government as well as appropriate,” he said.
“Before the courts, it would be improper to comment on individual issues.”
