On Wednesday, Kerala Local Equity Minister MB Rajesh opened the Pan City Led Street Light Project, where traditional street lights were replaced with more than 40,000 smart and energy -saving LED lights on the borders of Kochi Corporation.

The initiative, which was implemented by Cochin Smart Mission Limited (CSML), included more than 30 Crore investment. Mayor M. Anilkumar chaired the work.

The project claims to cover all the big ways within the boundaries of the company and thus ensures the central control of the public lighting system. The entire LED network is mapped using the Geographical Information System (CBS) and will be integrated with CSML’s Central Command and Control Center.

5 -year operation, maintenance agreement

A five -year operation and maintenance agreement that ensures the sustainability of the project is an important emphasis. A daily aid desk was established to complain about multiple channels-bodies, SMS and mobile applications. For timely changes of the contractor, lights, panels and equipment must maintain 5% of the equipment. A substance requires that the system remains working in at least 98% of the time.

Each LED light comes with seven years of warranty. In addition, CCMS panels, cables and communication equipment are covered by five years of warranty.

CSML CEO Shaji V. Nair said, “The project will help the company reduce its power bill by half. In addition, software controlled CCMS panels will provide operational efficiency and timely repair and maintenance and maintenance.”

There is no real segment on the power bill: Opposition

However, the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) objected to this claim by stating that there was no significant decrease in the power bill of the company. MG Aristotle, the leader of the UDF Parliament Party, referred to the documents obtained through the right to information, and in the three-month period between June and August, electric fees for street lighting are 3.89 Crore.

“It was claimed that the central system would deal with the dysfunctional street lights within 48 hours, according to complaints from the members of the parliamentary members of the parliament.

Mr. Nair said that the system’s online participation continues and after completion, repairs to dysfunctional lights will be made almost instantly.

In the meantime, the opposition, even if the project continued, the company shared the images of social media showing the streets of Linli.
