Shadow minister quits frontbench over immigration policy disagreement
Andrew Hastie stunned her colleagues and left the liberal Frontbench on Friday after revealing her own nationalist agenda on migration, production and net zero.
Hastie, the interior spokesman of the opposition, called the opposition leader Sussan Ley on Friday. Sources reported that Western Australian can no longer provide him with shadow cabinet.

Ley’s office confirmed the news on Friday evening. Inside Australia Hastie said:
“The leader clearly stated that the Coalition Minister would not manage the reaction of the Coalition to immigration issues, or that the coalition would not develop immigration policy.
“On this basis, I decided that I could not continue in this role and could not remain silent about migration.
“For this reason, I resign from the front bench without respecting Sussan’s leadership.
“Sussan deserves the opportunity to lead numerous leaders from the interventions of shadow cabinet colleagues, especially while creating a policy platform for the Coalition 2028 elections, especially Hastie.
After touching the eastern coast of Hastie, where the couple did not appear to be open to the public together, she contradicted Ley Hastie and said she did not bring any policy with her.
Instead, according to Ley, Hastie said that as stated in the letters he sent the front bending at the beginning of this week, as stated by this Masthead, he could not overshadow his cabinet solidarity.
