Women found dead on Mount Bogong froze to death, police say
Hargreaves said that the hikers who found the bodies helped the police in their investigations.
Two women were near Cleve Cole Hut, but the hikers were not protected when they find them.

“The police are still working at this stage [identifying] These two people. They are not known to us right now ..
“When you look at that period for two to three days, they are extraordinary difficult conditions – snow storm conditions – and probably two people succumbed to these conditions and caused serious hypothermia.”
“We will continue our investigations to determine their identity. This issue will now be a coronary issue,” he said.
“This area is usually seen frequently by Outback Adventurers [who] They want to experience these conditions, but sometimes they become quite dangerous and unfavorable.
The nearby Falls Creek is a popular ski target.
“If they do not have difficult and right conditions and the right equipment, it becomes very dangerous.
“The police don’t know how to save people from these regions, and you are used to crossing this land. As a result, the members who attended last night were good equipped to stay overnight under these conditions.”

The first weekend of October is traditionally pointed to the end of Victoria’s snow season, but for the first time in these three years, Australian ski centers have passed September.
Snow is still expected to fall to Victoria’s Alps between Thursday and Saturdays next week.
