A European city, known for its beaches and live nightlife, actually has more skyscraper than Dubai per person. A holiday is a hot point for the British with approximately 900,000 UK tourists each year.
Benidorm, known as “Mediterranean New York”, has a building longer than 100 meters. This means that it has the most skyscraper per person and per square meter in Europe. The area in Costa Blanca in Alicante was a fishing village before it was once transformed into a live facility in the 1950s. Local Mayor Pedro Zaragoza defended the construction of high buildings to provide more space for leisure and green spaces.
Due to its location near the sea and surrounded by mountains, there was not much space for the expansion of Zaragoza. However, foreign visitors were able to build vertically to maximize the space.
Zaragoza said in an interview: “If you build low, you occupy the entire area and you will have a long walk to the beach. If you build high, you can look at the sea and leave space for gardens, pools and tennis courts.”
The city is very popular among British holidaymakers due to sunlight, beaches, purchasability and family attraction centers. The highest building in Benidorm is the Intempo building, which stands in a large place with a height of 187 meters.
The cost of the 47 -storey building was officially opened in £ 72.5 million and in March 2014. It changed the city’s silhouette and became an iconic turning point due to its distinctive design.
Torre Lúgano, a luxurious housing skyscraper in other parts of Benidorm, is an imposing 158 meters high. It has 204 luxury apartments with comprehensive views of the Mediterranean and 43 times.
Neguri Gane skyscraper stands out in Benidorm for its round shape. Standing 145 meters tall, the fourth highest building in the city and the twelfth highest building in Spain.
The fifth high building in Benidorm is the housing skyscraper Kronos building. The reinforced concrete structure consists of 145 meters tall and 41 times the plate.
