South Carolina State University Shooting: Campus placed under lockdown after shots fired, no injuries reported; here’s what we know so far

Orangeburg Institute canceled all the planned return to home planned on Sunday, October 5, 2025. In the warning, all university students called on Huine Suites to return to their dormitories after being shot, the authorities were published on the school’s website.
“SCSU Alert: South Carolina State University Campus is locked after a shooting.
The State Law Enforcement Department was asked to be investigated. According to the university, students in Huine Suites Dorm are asked to stay and are asked to stay away from others and return to their residential halls.
“Public Security, the State Law Enforcement Department asked the investigation of the Department of the Department of Huine Suites who are not in the complex report to the SHM. Everyone in Hugine Suites remains. Students in other residential halls, please go out of campus,” historically, he read a warning at the black university.
South Carolina Sen. “My office is closely monitoring the situation at the State University of South Carolina. Praying for the safety of everyone on campus.”
The university is located in Orangeburg, Middle South Carolina. There is a student population of approximately 2,900 students.
