The Paris Olympic bronze medal Aman Sehrawat was removed by the Indian Wrestling Federation on Tuesday. He is currently faced with a penalty for a year of participating in any international or national wrestling competition. But why was it removed?
The Paris Olympic Bronze Medal Aman Sehrawat was sentenced to suspends on Tuesday on the grounds that he had violated the rules of weight by the Indian Wrestling Federation. He is currently facing a ban on joining any international or national wrestling competition from September 2025 to September 2026.
“With this document, you have been removed from all activities related to wrestling at both national and international wrestling for a year from the date of notification of justification.”
Aman Sehrawat was removed due to weight violation
22 -year -old Aman was disqualified in September because it exceeded the 57 kilos of weight limit at a world championship held in Zagreb, Croatia. It exceeded the weight limit of 1.7 kg. The WFI requires an explanation for disqualification.
According to reports, Aman was asked to appear before a five -member committee chaired by WFI President Sanjay Kumar Singh, attended by national coaches. The Committee found that Sehrawat had participated in the preparation camp in Croatia’s Porec, Croatia 18 days before the match scheduled for 14 September. He had enough time to maintain his weight and condition levels in accordance with the rules. The response to the disciplinary warning was examined extensively and the response was found to be “insufficient” and therefore was suspended.
According to WFI Chief Sanjay Singh, official warnings were given to the coaching team of Aman Sehrawat. However, the Federation gave the wrestler a weekly time to respond before taking the last action.
