“We welcome the agreement on the first phase of President Trump’s peace plan. It is also a reflection of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s strong leadership,” Mr. Modi said in a post on X.
“We hope that the release of the hostages and the provision of more humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza will bring them a period of respite and pave the way for lasting peace,” he said.

Israel and Hamas agreed to stop fighting in Gaza and release at least some hostages and detainees, a deal pushed by the Trump administration.
The deal marks the biggest breakthrough in months in the devastating two-year war.
