Apple Inc. is preparing for a major executive shakeup as longtime Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams prepares to leave his post at the end of 2025, opening the door for some of the company’s top leaders to take on larger roles, according to a Bloomberg report.

Williams, who has been managing operations since 2015, handed over his portfolio, including supply chain, AppleCare and China operations, to the company’s new operations chief Sabih Khan.

A spokesperson for Apple declined to comment on the changes at Bloomberg, but the news outlet’s sources said the change is part of a strategic move to streamline leadership and position the company for the next phase of growth (Bloomberg, 2025).

Eddy Cue takes the reins of Apple’s health and fitness empire

In one of the most notable shifts, Apple’s service chief Eddy Cue will now oversee the company’s health and fitness teams.

The move unites the efforts of Sumbul Desai (health) and Jay Blahnik (Fitness+) under one roof. The report also states that Blahnik will report to Desai, while Cue will take the helm and guide the combined team. Cue already manages Apple’s streaming and cloud services, including TV+, Music, iCloud and Maps, and now its portfolio will expand into the health space, underscoring the growing importance of wellness in Apple’s ecosystem. The restructuring comes just ahead of Apple’s highly anticipated Health+ subscription service, which is set to launch in 2019. 2026.

The AI-powered platform promises personalized guidance on exercise, nutrition and sleep, signaling Apple’s ambition to turn healthy living into a major revenue stream.

Federighi and Ternus: We are expanding technology dominance

Apple’s software chief Craig Federighi is handling watchOS in addition to his previous responsibilities with Siri and VisionOS for the Vision Pro headset.

Federighi’s expanded role demonstrated the tech giant’s focus on software excellence in its wearable devices, particularly the Apple Watch (Bloomberg, 2025).

Meanwhile, on the hardware side, John Ternus now has full control of Apple Watch engineering.

Although he had previously led the team, Williams was deeply involved in smartwatch launches. Ternus, who is only 50 years old, is seen as the potential heir to CEO Tim Cook, who turns 65 next year.

The company is also pivoting to other leadership moves: AI chief John Giannandrea is slated to be replaced, while head of environmental and government affairs Lisa Jackson is considering retirement.

Additionally, according to Bloomberg News, Apple is reportedly considering the future of chip genius Johny Srouji.
