National Lottery urges missing multi-millionaires to come forward

The National Lottery is urging players to check their tickets as two multi-millionaire jackpot winners have yet to come forward.
One of the unclaimed tickets purchased in store on Saturday was valued at £10.6 million, while the other ticket purchased on Wednesday was valued at £2 million.
Players have less than six months to claim their winnings before the money is donated to charities across the UK.
Andy Carter, senior winners advisor at National Lottery operator Allwyn, said: “We’re urging lottery players to check their tickets in case they become one of our future multi-millionaires.
“Check your bags, jacket pockets, even the pockets on the back of the sofa, because that’s where the lucky tickets are! Winning any of these jackpots will be life-changing and I can’t wait to meet our lucky winners and pay out their incredible prizes in the run-up to Christmas!”
On 4 October, a ticket matched the numbers 06, 08, 12, 33, 49, 59, securing a jackpot of £10,633,323. The second ticket, purchased on 8 October, matched the numbers 02, 21, 42, 48, 56, 57 and hit the £2 million jackpot.
Ticket holders have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their winnings. Unless claimed, the money will be donated to Good Causes, which funds projects across the country, supports the arts and sports sectors, local communities and protects national landmarks.
Simon Horne of the National Lottery said: “Although we would prefer a player to come forward and collect the prize, if they don’t then that money will still help a lot of people going to Good Causes.” Mr Horne said sometimes rewards were not claimed.
“Fortunately, players are very good about checking their tickets, checking their emails, and coming forward very quickly to claim their prizes.”
The National Lottery is urging anyone who believes they have a winning ticket to go to the store or use their app to check their retail ticket, or check their email to see if they won from an online ticket.
They are asking players who believe they have won to call the National Lottery Line on 0333 234 5050 or email help@national-lottery.co.uk. “We intend to pay you your grand prize,” said Mr. Horne.
He said that winning this much money could change his life. “Over the years we have seen us make over 7,400 millionaires and the impact this can have on individuals, their families and friends as well as the good causes in the community around them and the charities they wish to support can be huge.
“This is exciting for a player and we look forward to meeting these players and supporting them as they begin their life-changing journey.”
The National Lottery has paid out more than £95 billion in prizes since it was founded in 1994.
