Olympic legend Bradley Wiggins opens up on his cocaine hell and how he SNORTED the drug off a gold medal: ‘I don’t know how I’m still alive’

Team GB Olympic legend Bradley Wiggins has opened up about his cocaine hell once again after retiring and admitted he’s not sure how he’s still alive.

The Tour de France champion and five-time Olympic gold medalist revealed earlier this year that he struggled with drug addiction after retiring from the sport in 2016.

Wiggins admitted he had now become a ‘functioning addict’ and used ‘a lot of cocaine’.

The 45-year-old told how his children Isabella and Ben, who are part of the British Cycling organisation, tried to get him into rehab after they became concerned about his addiction.

But he went into detail about how serious his addiction was and admitted that even his Olympic success played a role.

he said Times He said that he lived in a hotel for two weeks and drank up to 120 grams of cocaine. When asked how he did not die, he said: ‘I don’t know. ‘I don’t like thinking about it.’

‘I was furious when he smashed my 2012 Sports Personality of the Year award and knighthood,’ he added. ‘This is not success.’

‘I did this in front of my children. No wonder there were times when they talked about trying to send me to rehab.

‘The desecration of my Olympic medal may have occurred away from their gaze, but it is equally sad to think about it.

‘Hundreds of thousands of people are roaring at me, and millions more are watching at home. One of the best moments of London 2012 and I’m there snorting cocaine in my wardrobe [off my gold medal]I mocked my success and hated it for what I believed it had brought me.

‘This was the equivalent of pissing on someone’s grave and at that moment I was peeing on my own.

‘The gold medal, the Tour de France, they were all dead to me. The person I was in Paris and London was dead to me too.’

Earlier this year, Wiggins revealed that he quit his addiction without outside help more than a year ago.

The 45-year-old reached the peak of his fame in 2012 when he became the first British cyclist to win the Tour de France.

Wiggins, who won five Olympic gold medals from 2004 to 2016, reportedly made a fortune of £13 million at the height of his fame.

But last year it was reported that a company controlled by Wiggins had debts totaling around £1 million.

He was declared bankrupt when he was unable to repay the money he owed through his individual voluntary arrangement (IVA).

The star was reportedly homeless and sleeping at various addresses, including his ex-wife’s, and was believed to be close to selling his Olympic medals.
