Three people dead after light plane crashes on take-off near Wollongong | New South Wales

Three people were killed when a light aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff near Wollongong, New South Wales, on Saturday morning.
NSW police said in a statement that the plane took off from Shellharbour airport around 10am, then crashed and caught fire.
“The aircraft caught fire after impacting the ground and was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW,” a spokesman said.
“Three people are confirmed dead. There are no reports of anyone else being injured.”
Emergency services are currently at the airport and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been notified.
