Arizona officer arrested, accused of shoplifting at Walmart

SHOW LOW, Ariz. – An Eastern Arizona officer finds himself on the other side of the law after allegedly shoplifting while on duty at the Show Low Walmart.
What do we know?
The alleged incident occurred at the store just after 4pm on October 6th. Near White Mountain and Show Low Lake Roads. according to Show Low Melissa Ward, 37, hid multiple items inside a black bag, went to checkout herself and paid for the bag, but not the items inside, the Police Department said.

Police said a Walmart loss prevention employee followed him throughout the store and witnessed him hiding the items inside the bag. The total of the items was about $70.
Ward is an officer with the White Mountain Apache Police Department. Police He said he was on duty when the alleged incident occurred. Ward was placed on administrative leave.
