Top US Military Commander Visits Gaza, Reaffirms No US Troops To Be Deployed There

Washington: The head of US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Saturday that he visited Gaza to discuss post-conflict stability and insisted that no US troops would be sent to Palestinian territory.
Admiral Brad Cooper wrote in
As part of President Donald Trump’s peace plan, 200 US soldiers are planned to arrive in Israel first to help monitor the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel in Gaza.
The U.S. military will operate in Gaza and coordinate a multinational task force that will likely include troops from Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates.
“America’s sons and daughters in uniform are answering the call to ensure peace in the Middle East by supporting the Commander in Chief’s direction at this historic moment,” Cooper wrote to X.
“This massive effort will be accomplished with no U.S. boots on the ground in Gaza,” Cooper wrote.
Cooper was appointed to lead CENTCOM, the US military command responsible for the Middle East, in early August.
