Char Dham Yatra suspended due to heavy rainfall red alert in Uttarakhand

Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand was suspended for the next 24 hours due to a red warning for heavy rainfall given by the Department of Meteorology (IMD).

Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey confirmed that the pilgrims reaching Rishikesh were asked to stay, and those who have advanced previously have been stopped in safe places.

The IMD foresees extremely heavy rain in various regions and enabled the administration to take precautionary measures to avoid unwanted events throughout the pilgrimage.
The authorities urged the dedicated to follow official advice and avoid traveling to hills until the weather conditions healed.
