After Hamas released all 20 remaining hostages in Gaza on Monday, photos and videos of family reunification began to pour in.

After 738 days in captivity, the hostages were returned to Israel where they underwent medical checks. Their release was part of a deal aimed at ending the two-year war.

When Guy Gilboa-Dalal met his family at the first reception point after his release, his family shouted and hugged him so tightly that they would turn away from him as he moved to another room. The group then took photos.

Israeli twins Gali and Ziv Berman, 28, were smiling when they were handed over to the IDF and saw them face to face. Previously released hostages said the twins in Kfar Aza were kept apart.

Photos of the first seven hostages released on Monday showed them looking pale but less emaciated than some hostages freed in January.

“Generations from now on will remember this as the moment when everything started to change,” President Donald Trump said in his more than 40-minute speech to the Israeli Knesset on Monday.

As Israel begins to free hundreds of Palestinians from its prisons, important questions about what will happen next remain unanswered and the risk of returning to war increases even as the world strives for peace.
