Vauxhall station evacuated LIVE: Emergency disrupts Waterloo and Clapham trains | UK | News

As one of the UK’s busiest rail hubs, London Waterloo Station handled an estimated 62.5 million passenger arrivals and departures in the year ending March 2024, underlining its important role in the country’s transport network.
As the main transit point for passengers from south-west London and surrounding counties, the station facilitates daily journeys for hundreds of thousands of people traveling to the capital for work, with services often at capacity at peak times.
South Western Railway operates most of the routes from Waterloo, connecting passengers to major destinations such as Surrey’s suburban areas such as Guildford and Woking, Hampshire’s seaside towns such as Southampton and beautiful routes further afield such as Dorset, Devon and Cornwall.
Despite a slight drop in the rankings due to the rise of the Elizabeth line, Waterloo remains essential for regional connectivity and supports the economic vitality of the southwest by providing seamless travel for day travelers and leisure travelers alike.
