Kylie Jenner’s promotion for her new King Kylie Cosmetics collection has divided fans, with critics calling it “extremely disjointed.”

On Sunday, the 28-year-old reality star shared a post. short clip He was seen on Instagram in handcuffs as he strutted down a prison corridor flanked by two police officers.

Jenner wore a black leather bra and matching micro shorts with silver chains attached to her hips. She accessorized with black fishnet tights and chunky silver jewelry, as well as a pair of black slingback heels.

Jenner’s new makeup collection is a throwback to the rebellious “King Kylie” persona she popularized in the mid-2010s and helped launch the early brand identity. At the time, Jenner was known for her edgy, experimental looks, especially after she dyed her hair blue.

This period coincided with the launch of her makeup brand Kylie Cosmetics in 2015, which she turned into a beauty empire.

After Jenner shared the teaser, fans and some of her famous friends flocked to the comments section of her post to express their excitement about her new collection.

Hailey Bieber wrote “absolutely” while Lauren Sánchez Bezos added a raised hand emoji. One fan wrote: “KING KYLIE IS BACK” while another wrote: “We are back.”

However, online critics vented their anger in a thread on Reddit, criticizing the pattern of images ICE uses during ongoing raids and reigniting debates about policing and immigration enforcement.

“The country is boiling, citizens are being dragged away by badge-hungry rent-a-cops, and Kylie Jenner is doing a handcuffed hot pants photoshoot to promote COSMETICS. This isn’t satire; this is American rot,” one Reddit user wrote along with a screenshot from the promotion.

“Contact with him has been lost,” another confirmed.

“Hahaha it’s like she can understand what the people she cosplays are going through,” one critic added. “This is utterly disgusting and I haven’t even thought about how this could happen deeply I was unaware of this until I read the title of this article. “You are so right.”

Other Reddit users criticized Jenner for reviving the “King Kylie” brand, noting that it came in the wake of the recent “No to Kings” protests against perceived authoritarianism under the Trump administration.

“Additionally, does anyone else find it strange that there are ‘No Kings’ protests across the country and the OP is doing a shoot called ‘King Kylie’ with the relevant images she mentioned? [original poster]?” one commenter wrote.

Some critics compared the promotion to other controversial celebrity marketing campaigns, including Jenner’s sister Kendall Jenner’s 2017 Pepsi ad.

In the ad, Jenner breaks up tensions between demonstrators and police by handing a police officer a can of Pepsi as she leaves a fashion photo shoot to attend a protest.

Fans were quick to criticize the ad as tone-deaf and exploitative. Pepsi withdrew the campaign within 48 hours and apologized, admitting it had “missed the mark”.

Jenner later tearfully described the incident on an episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and said she felt “so stupid.”

“Is she really trying to recreate the same argument Kendall had with the tone-deaf Pespi? [sic] commercial???” one Reddit user wrote about Jenner.

“The outrage over this should be compared to Kendall’s Pepsi campaign… It’s like it started all over again…” another agreed.

Jenner has not made any statement regarding the controversy.
